I’ve tried other big name running shoes and still experienced foot pain. I loved the look of Hilmas and their mission spoke to me- plus I was reassured by the return policy. Tried a pair OUT OF THE BOX for a 10 mile training run and they felt FANTASTIC - so fantastic that I wore them for a half marathon the following week. I knew it was a risk wearing new (only broken in for a few miles) unknown shoes for the second 50k of an overnight 100k but they delivered! Enough underfoot cushion to protect from roots and rocks while still being firm and springy. Stayed on my feet through deep mud, enough tread to keep me moving through slippery surfaces, drained well after being fully submerged in water, no chafe or hotspots even after running through sand and light enough to carry me to a second place finish! My only regret is that my pretty purple shoes are no longer purple.

I always struggled with horrible blisters and discomfort wearing new shoes, but Hilmas felt broken in straight from the box. So comfy for walking, running or even dancing!!

First adventure was a hike through the wet clay of the Puerto Rican Rain Forest. Caked with clay then water logged with the swim and then recaked. Washed and in perfect condition. Comfortable and light (despite clay and water)
