    Better than Hokas, Nike, Adidas.. any name brand shoe out there

    I bought these for a trip to Korea and brought a back up pair of Nikes just in case these weren’t as comfortable. Needless to say, I’ve only been wearing my Hilmas. I live a sedentary lifestyle so I can’t believe I’m saying this but I walked an average of 17K steps in these and felt amazing. My boyfriend had on a pair of Adidas running shoes that started hurting his feet on day 2 (we’re on day 9). These are amazingly comfortable and probably the best purchase of this year.

    Helpful shoes

    I'm undoubtedly not the usual customer; I'm in my early 70's, and running was only part of my life in my early 20's. In addition to having had knee replacement 4 years ago, I also have a loose ligament condition in my ankles and feet, which makes walking difficult sometimes. The Danner hikers I have really help stabilize me for walks, but I wanted footwear for summer, and since I am now a 12, that leaves out most hikers, especially in narrow. These Hilmas are as good as it's going to get for someone like me -- and that's pretty good! These fit 1 size 12 feel like they were made for me, and walking around the house and the neighborhood is feeling pretty good. They do hug my heel, but not in a hiking shoe kind of way, which I would need on the trails I frequent. Normally, a shoe this "soft" wouldn't work for me, but this shoe has supportive aspects you don't really notice until you compare with other shoes. I love the sourcing of materials going into this shoe as well. I really can't say this often: I'm very glad I bought these. Oh, and technically I'm an 11.5 AAA, so I'm not sure how someone who is actually 12 on the Brannok device would fare, and I wouldn't be surprised if my floppy feet don't stretch out to 12's anyway.

    So comfy

    The sandstone color is really nice. I got these for wearing as regular shoes and not running. I went with my normal size of 8.5 and they fit great. My other Hilmas that I use for running are a size 9. Highly recommend them!
